On the night of December 5, 2025, the Musselman community came together at Waldeck Field in support of a
Musselman Alumni and National Guardsmen, Andrew Wolfe.
Andy Wolfe, a SSGT for the West Virginian Air Guard, was attacked along with another guardsmen while on patrol in Washington D.C. on November 26, 2025. As a result, he sustained critical injuries.
The Musselman community stretched its arms out to support

Andy in many different ways. As one walks the Musselman High school halls, the staff and faculty can be seen wearing a red ribbon pinned to their lanyards with “Andrew Wolfe” printed on them in support of his recovery. These ribbons were created by a former student’s mom, Stephanie Siford, and was taken over by Mrs. Allen, a teacher at MuHS, to help reach the production demand for them.
Outside of the school walls, the community came together to hold a prayer for Andy, from hundreds of locals to even the West Virginian Governor, Patrick Morrisey, attending.
“Even if ten people showed up to pray or come together as a community, that would be ten extra people to pray,” Allen conveyed.

The vigil was no quick task to set up. Everyone in the school had a helping hand in the vigil as there was a wide span of individuals and groups who helped set up. Musselman’s Student Council, National Honor Society, janitors, band, and the building and maintenance class assisted in setting up. Both Michael Knepper, the band teacher, and James Miller, the choir teacher contributed to the efforts as well.
Wolfe’s father, a respected individual who has given to the community through his occupation of working in law enforcement, attended the vigil. His mother, however, was at Wolfe’s side and wasn’t able to attend.
“I know it was really important to us to make sure that they knew that they had the support from Musselman and the community,” Allen expressed.
The Musselman community is sending their best wishes to Wolfe and his family in this current time of recovery. A truly spoken motto, Once an Applemen, always an Applemen.
