Nora:
Valentine’s day is sometimes seen as a money spending holiday that’s made up, and that we should instead just show our love and appreciation every day. But I think it’s a fun and special day that goes for showing just how much you love someone. It doesn’t even have to be a significant other, it could be your best friend and you turn it into a galentines, your family, or anyone who you love. It’s a day that’s meaning is to show love and give love.
It’s also fun to receive things. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive or flashy. You can always celebrate with something meaningful. It can be as simple as a homemade letter or card, a box of chocolates or flowers. I think it just makes people feel loved and cared for. Even though one can do this every day, I think making a whole day about it is fun. It gives you a chance to celebrate just love in general and show appreciation towards others.
I know some people may feel lonely on this day, but you shouldn’t. Because even if you have no partner you can still even celebrate with yourself or your friends. Boys may not relate to this, but Galentine’s is also a fun way to spend it. Just hanging out with girlfriends and doing fun pampering, eating yummy snacks, and just being with each other is another way someone can celebrate. And if you did happen to have a significant other then I feel like that is a special day you could make the most of with each other. But honestly it’s always good to sit around and eat the chocolates I get from my mom, and watch a good rom com.
Haylee:
Valentine’s Day often gets a lot of mixed opinions and backlash because some believe love should be celebrated every day. However, I believe it’s a very nice thought to have a special day dedicated to expressing love.
While some people feel sad or lonely seeing others share romantic moments with their partners, the holiday can be about more than just romantic relationships. It’s a great opportunity to show appreciation for friends too.
The concept of “Galentine’s day” has gained popularity, allowing those not in romantic relationships to participate and feel included. Celebrating love in all its forms can keep us happy and feel fulfilled, making Valentine’s Day a meaningful occasion for everyone not just those who are in relationships.
