Sadie Yates is a junior cross country runner who truly embodies the Applemen Spirit. She has set and broken her own school record twice with a current 5K record of 18 minutes and 17 seconds.
When asked what motivates her and helps her push her body’s limit she said, “I just really like running.”
The wisdom she wants to pass on to new newcomers is: “Your in season [results] are determined by your offseason [work].”
Another big motivation for Sadie is the team around her. She loves the environment and seeing others put in the work to become better.
Her favorite memory is from her sophomore year when the entire girls team qualified for states. She said that made her more happy then individually qualifying for states in her freshman season.
This year she placed 4th at states but her cross country days are far from over as she still has her senior season as well as her collegiate career.
