The Bunker Hill High School – Musselman High School Alumni Association is proud to announce the upcoming presentation of the Outstanding Alumni Award (OAA) and the Outstanding Alumni Educator Award (OAEA) at the annual Alumni Banquet, that will take place on May 9, 2026, at Heritage Hall.
“The purpose of these awards is to recognize alumni who have maintained a high standard of excellence and distinguished themselves through their work, personal accomplishments, or in the lives of others. These individuals exemplify the ideals of Musselman High and the community it serves and should be held as the role models for current and future students,” Sherry Smith, president of the Alumni Association stated.
The OAA recognizes graduates who have maintained a high standard of excellence and made a meaningful impact on their careers or communities. The OAEA, introduced last year, honors alumni who have excelled in the field of education. The inaugural recipient was Shawn Kane in 2025. Both awards highlight individuals who serve as role models for current and future students.
“There are countless alumni who are deserving of these awards,” Ms. Smith stated. “They have to be nominated to be considered. We encourage people to nominate individuals whom they believe are worthy of this distinction,” she continued.
Staff members, students, families, and community members are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals. The nomination form for both of these awards and an essay of 500 words or less must be submitted by March 1, 2026. Nomination guidelines and submission forms are available on the Musselman High School Alumni Facebook page and the Alumni Association website: www.musselmanalumni.org.
In addition to the alumni awards, the banquet will feature the presentation of $500 scholarships to graduating seniors. Last year, the Alumni Association awarded 35 scholarships, made possible through the Giving Club, and a silent auction.
