The archery club has made a triumphant return to Musselman High School, an idea inspired by head principal, Mrs. Riggleman.
Mr. Slezak, one of our assistant principals, who was presented with the idea of bringing it back, decided to become the adviser, with hope to expand the club to the rest of the county.

With excitement of reviving archery, Slezak expressed, “The enthusiasm from the students has fueled me to establish this club. The challenge lies in securing funding to acquire the necessary equipment. However, seeing the students’ excitement for a new sport is incredibly rewarding.”
Several club members, including Kaleb Foxx, Nick Weights, Toby Maise, and Chelsea Lewis, already have experience with archery. Some students have even participated at competitions.
One member, Kaleb Foxx, has participated in numerous archery tournaments, even qualifying for nationals.
Slezak hopes that Kaleb’s accomplishments, along with those of others, will inspire students to seize similar opportunities.
Musselman High School once had an archery team, but it was unfortunately discontinued over ten years ago due to a lack of interest in teaching it.
However, the club’s revival is promising, and there’s hope that it will last for a long time. Some of the staff members are overjoyed, and other faculty members throughout the school shared their excitement to see the return of this old beloved sport.
This club comes with certain responsibilities, as Mr. Slezak will closely monitor students’ grades and make sure students behave appropriately in class. He is hopeful about the club’s success and is determined to share this incredible opportunity with the students of Musselman High School.
