Five Nights At Freddy’s: Movie review

Five+Nights+At+Freddys%3A+Movie+review

Did the new Five Nights At Freddy’s movie live up to its name? Fans have been waiting on the release since 2015, as the movie is based off a horror game of the same name that came out in 2014. I personally recommend watching the new FNAF movie. Even though it doesn’t exactly go with the lore that many fans have become obsessed with, I think that the movie represented the game franchise very well in its own parallel.

The movie starts with the protagonist, Mike Schmidt, getting fired from his position of being a security guard at the mall. He has to take care of his little sister, Abby, so he’s in search of a new job. At first he’s hesitant about taking the new job at Freddy Fazbear’s, because it is a night shift, and the place is overall sketchy. After being threatened to lose custody over his sister, he takes the job anyways. It doesn’t start to get crazy until the third night at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaria, when the babysitter doesn’t show up to watch Abby, so Mike has to bring his sister with him.

The only thing I didn’t like about the movie was that they made the cupcake the most vicious animatronic, but in the lore the cupcake isn’t brought up as much. Another thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t go with the same lore as the games. I guessed the bad guy right away, but most of my friends were shocked when the antagonist was revealed.

Those that hated it mainly didn’t like the movie because they got the lore wrong, but I can look past that to see that it was still a great movie despite what fans were looking for. Overlooking all of that, the movie was absolutely amazing. It’s a good movie to sit down and watch with your friends and family.
