Musselman High kicked off the new 2025-2026 school year, and so has Mrs. Lippencott with teaching eleventh and twelfth grade English.
This is her first year teaching; however, she isn’t unfamiliar with the teaching environment. Lippencott subbed for a bit while she was in college. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2022 recieving her undergraduate. She also just recieved her masters just this summer.
Lippencott had her calling to Musselman High when she moved to West Virginia for her husband’s job and started applying for teaching positions. She originally worked from home, but that didn’t suit her since she loves to be out and about with people.
When asked what inspired her to be a teacher, Lippencott responded, “In English you really learn to think critically like what is someone [thinking]. There is also the communication side of it. Being able to tell someone your opinions and [being able to] use your voice.”
Lippencott also loves to help students reach their potential and grow connections with them. It really motivates and fulfills her as a teacher.
When asked what Lippencott really enjoys about teaching, she responded,
“I think it’s a combination of students and the subject. So whenever light bulbs go off for students and they understand something, um, that’s, that’s what really does it for me.”
Some fun facts about Lippencott are that she loves to walk, listen to audio books, work out, bake, and enjoys to be with her husband and dog in her time outside of school. However, Lippencott is new to the area and she plans to explore the region.
Her favorite book genre is historical fiction, and although she is open to other genres, that is her go to.
When asked if there is anything that she would like us and the school to know, she responded, “I just have so much love in my heart for everyone here, and I love getting to tell people how proud I am of you guys already in school.”
