This school year has brought a new chapter for Mrs. Williams, a ninth and tenth grade English teacher this year at Musselman High School. Although she is new to the high school, she is not new to the community.

Williams graduated from Shepherd University. Her first job was teaching at James Wood Middle School, and afterwards she taught at Jefferson High School for about five years. For the past four years she taught at Musselman Middle School.
When asked what inspired her to become a teacher she replied, “I decided to be a teacher because I wanted to help other people. I realized that I could do more with the world if I would take the time [with] my skills and help others [rather] than just myself.”
Making her way from the middle school to here, she is a familiar face for some students.
The decision to leave Musselman Middle came with the reasoning that her heart was in the higher grade level curriculum and she wanted to see students grow throughout high school while guiding them to their future selves.
When asked, what do you love about the musselman community so far, Williams responded, “I just think there is a lot of respect in this school. I think everybody takes the time to make sure that things are going well and that everybody feels like they’re accepted here. So I appreciate that level of respect .”
Outside of the teaching environment, Williams loves to spend her time outside hiking, shopping, and reading. One unique goal that she has is to travel to all fifty U.S. states. She currently has gone to twenty six or twenty seven of the states.
When asked if she would like the school to know anything about her, she responded with, “I am just really excited to be here and I hope the students learn to love themselves as much as I care about them because if you can see value in yourself you can do anything you put your mind to. There is no limit to your imagination in what you can accomplish.”
