In the past years at Musselman High School, club students have offered their help to assist families during the joyous holiday. This year, the clubs are dedicated to giving the opportunity to have access to needs and wants, continuing the tradition that was started years ago.
Everyone around the school is more than happy to be of service and make several family’s holiday seasons better.
When asking three clubs their plans and goals for this year’s gift giving, Mrs. Raines, the Rotary club organizer stated, “Basic needs: coats, hats [and] gloves. A few little gifts for the children.”
Bible club organizer, Mr. Welch stated “Get them some nice things and provide a nice Christmas for a family. A couple of the kids asked for some lofty things like AirPods and stuff, that our kids actually went out and got them so that was pretty cool to see.”
It is wonderful to see the groups working hard to allow families to have a wonderful Christmas this year.
Sources of strength, another club that focuses on supporting mental health and relationships was involved. Mrs. Nutter as their director stated, “Provide the support. [In addition] our Food Lion here in Inwood supplied five hams and five turkeys to go along with each family that we have taken on this year.”
The community got involved through the spirit and kindness to accommodate the families who necessitate it.
Along with this, the clubs were asked how it felt to them to help during the holiday season. They have stated that they have felt good about their service and assistance to those in need.
