Deadpool in recent years has become a household name in Marvel comics and movies thanks to his flamboyant personality and the performance of Ryan Reynolds. The truth is that the Deadpool movies wouldn’t be where they are now without the help of the previous X-Men installments, specifically one little known character known as Wolverine who is undoubtedly the most popular X-Men to date.

Deadpool & Wolverine hit theaters July 26, 2024 to be the second biggest opening for a movie in 2024, grossing about $603 million dollars, just barely beaten by Inside Out 2 (IMDB). Some may ask: why is this movie so special? Well this was the official send off and end of the Fox Marvel franchise. Fox’s Marvel run has been going for twenty years now with legendary performances from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

So with twenty years of build up and millions of fans old and young it’s no wonder why this movie blew up, but was the story really just hype? Not at all.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the best movie of 2024. Not only is it really good in terms of its plot and character development, it’s the perfect movie to watch with almost everyone you can think of. Now wait, you might be saying “How could I watch this movie if I haven’t seen any other X-Men or Deadpool movies?”

I would say, you don’t have to. That’s just how good the movie is at establishing the bonds between the characters without the viewer having prior knowledge. Now usually this is when I would explain the plot of the movie, but guess what? I’m not gonna do that because you need to watch this movie yourself my dear reader.

Deadpool & Wolverine additionally excels at is its soundtrack featuring hits such as: “Like A Prayer” by Madonna, “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC, and last but not least “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls.

The comedy of Deadpool & Wolverine is a highlight too carried by Deadpool’s witty behavior and Ryan Reynold’s line delivery. The dynamic between characters Deadpool and Wolverine is a treat to watch as Hugh Jackman plays a rough and miserable Wolverine.

Last but definitely not least and the thing you’re probably wondering about with any Marvel movie is the cameos, and yes Deadpool & Wolverine has some great cameos that I personally think are the best in the entire Marvel cinematic universe. If you’re a fan of Marvel’s older movies you will love the cameos in this film.

So in conclusion, this movie is great and I highly recommend you stop reading this and go watch it. Grab that popcorn and that soda you left in the fridge, grab a buddy and enjoy the most fun movie of 2024.
