The Musselman High School boys’ basketball team has many expectations set this season. In previous years we have seen great performances and with many star players returning, that greatness is not expected to subside.
A star senior on the team,Troy Woolaston, would go on to state, “I expect us to dominate this year. With all of our starters from last year returning, there is more than a good chance of us making it back to states.”
Troy Woolaston, Matt Mahood, Gavin McClain, Nathan Whyte, and Logan Shelton are all returning for their senior year, ensuring a good team chemistry. Along with the seniors, Colton Shelton, Anden Santa Maria, Zach Miller, and Cam Cromwell are also returning players.
The team’s head coach, Coach Basile, also has winning in mind; “We have a lot of guys back, we can be competitive with anyone. We’ve got big goals,” says Basile.
When asked what the team’s greatest asset is, Coach Basile answered, “Well, there’s a lot of guys returning and I feel that the size of the team could be a great aspect.”
Coach Basile also communicated the importance of our conference games, which contain our biggest rivals like Martinsburg, Spring Mills, and Hedgesville. Last year we were extremely competitive within our division, winning over each team.
